Job Description:

Our established client is currently looking to recruit a Director of Finance on an initial 6 month contract, working on a hybrid basis.
  
Director of Finance – Section 151
£1000 per day inside IR35
6 months
  
The successful candidate will have experience at Finance Director level and as Section 151 Officer.  Within the role you will lead multi-million pound budgets, will develop and implement a sustainable financial strategy and will act as the Section 151 Officer amongst others.
  
Key duties

• Ensure that the client has a Medium Term Financial Strategy that operates within resources and delivers the Corporate Strategy.
• Be the head of profession for all finance, procurement, revenues and benefits, internal audit and risk management staff across the client, ensuring good quality financial advice, governance and leadership.
• Ensure sound treasury management activities and maintenance of the clients financial investments.
• To manage the financial aspects of the clients commercial interests, including the clients wholly and partly owned trading and teckal companies
• Ensure teams and resources are focused and aligned to deliver the corporate plan and Medium Term Financial Strategy.
• Monitor and report the on-going budget position in a transparent manner and deliver a balanced budget position.
• Have lead accountability for the financial and commercial performance of the client, and management of its financial interests in its shareholdings

The ideal candidate will have worked within the public sector / local authorities.
