Job Description:

Our client is currently looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their busy Team. The successful candidate will be familiar in the renewable energy sector and have experience dealing with Independent Connection Provider (ICP) Projects. An understanding of AutoCAD would be advantageous. You will be accountable for the following areas : 

• Develop detailed electrical designs for substation layouts, earthing systems, protection schemes, and control systems.
• Produce technical specifications, drawings, and calculations to meet project requirements and industry standards (BS 7671, G99, etc.).
• Select and specify electrical equipment (switchgear, transformers, protection relays) for optimal performance and reliability.
• Coordinate with clients, DNOs (Distribution Network Operators), and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Prepare technical reports and other documentation as required.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry regulations, standards, and technologies relevant to high-voltage electrical engineering.
• Produce equipment sizing, layouts, schematics, protection control, keyline, and cable block diagrams.
• Act as a specialist on electrical design matters internally and externally.
