Job Description:

Our client is currently looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor on an initial 3 month contract with opportunity for extension.

Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager
Huntingdon – Hybrid
£400 – £450 per day inside IR35
  
The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Highways Engineer providing commercial support to the delivery of a range of highway services including road resurfacing, junction refurbishments, pot hole repairs etc..  Within the role you will be reviewing contractor pricing, checking for adherence to contracts and ensuring the application of the correct rates amongst other duties.  As the Quantity Surveyor you will provide cost assurance expertise seeking to establish benchmark cost data and drive efficiency, will work collaboratively with suppliers to deliver efficiencies and identify collaborative opportunities, facilitate project groups and will lead and drive forward efficiencies.
  
Key duties

• Provide quantity surveying and estimating services for internal and external works to ensure value for money is achieved with the best use of available resources. To manage the commercial and cost management aspects for the delivery of the programme of investment and planned works
• Continually improve target cost and budget estimate assurance processes requested through the Contracts within the Highways and Transport service
• Ensure works and additional works meet the required targets and monitor internal and external markets to ensure highways and transport activity remains competitive.
• Assist in the cost-effective delivery of highway services and monitor their effect on highway budgets
