Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Linux Infrastructure Specialist for a major Government organisation on a 12 month initial contract.
  
As the Linux Infrastructure Specialist you will design, build, manage, and supports the infrastructure services that underpin all internal user services and services to the public. As an Infrastructure Engineer working in the Linux team, you will utilise your knowledge and skills of Linux technologies to support and maintain the Linux estate.
  
This will also include:

• Keeping the estate secure and compliant.
• Using the Service Management toolset, respond to Incidents, manage changes, and investigate problems to a satisfactory conclusion, minimising disruption to Linux services and ensuring service continuity of the Linux estate.
• Work with team members, sharing your knowledge and supporting others, helping the team meet their goals.
• Engage with project and technology teams, ensuring that consideration is taken for the supportability of Linux services.
• Look for opportunities to enhance the level of service delivered to users of the Linux services.

  
The ideal candidate will have:

• Advanced Redhat Enterprise Linux skills including desktop and server based systems
• Past experience in a Linux Consultant, Linux Systems Administrator or Infrastructure Engineer based role
• Ideally Certified in Redhat
• Experience using Linux tools to diagnose performance issues
• Familiar in the use of ServiceNow or similar service management tool
• Excellent communication, mentoring and team work based skills

  
Preference will be given to candidates who hold current SC Security Clearance however those eligible to apply will be considered.
  
Day rate: £600 per day via Umbrella Company
1-2 days per month in the Exeter office will be required.
