Are you passionate about community safety, public service transformation, and driving meaningful change? We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Transformation Project Lead to help shape the future of a high-performing Safer Communities Service.
This is a hands-on delivery role, ideal for someone with a strong background in public service reform, project and programme management, and community engagement. You’ll lead end-to-end delivery of key initiatives, supporting safer, fairer, and more inclusive communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage service transformation projects across multiple Safer Communities strands (e.g. ASB, Licensing, CCTV, VAWG, Community Engagement)
  • Develop and implement improvement plans and new operating models to enhance service performance
  • Coordinate project governance, timelines, and risks to ensure delivery on time and within budget
  • Work with internal departments and external partners, including residents and local agencies
  • Lead contract monitoring and contribute to commissioning and procurement activities
  • Produce detailed reports, data dashboards, and KPI tracking for senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Oversee project staff and manage related budgets where required
  • Plan and facilitate community consultations, staff workshops, and internal change events

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Confident in managing complex transformation or service improvement projects
  • Experienced in working within a public sector or community safety environment
  • Strong on stakeholder engagement — from frontline staff to senior leaders and residents
  • Skilled in project governance, budget control, and performance reporting
  • Organised, adaptable, and proactive — with a solutions-focused mindset
  • Able to manage sensitive or challenging issues professionally and constructively

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Significant experience managing projects/programmes in a relevant public sector or service setting
  • Strong financial management and risk analysis skills
  • Advanced communication, coordination, and presentation skills
  • Excellent understanding of project lifecycle tools, including performance frameworks
  • Educated to degree level or holds a recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile, APM)
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel, Outlook, and project planning/reporting systems

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established organisation with potential for contract extensions.
