Payroll and Pensions Assistant

Job Description:
Working from pre-identified records, you will review payslips, complete calculation templates, and update a master spreadsheet with accurate pensionable pay figures. Full training will be provided on the LGPS Assumed Pensionable Pay rules, along with guidance and checklists for the review process.
Essential skills:
- Good understanding of payroll and the ability to interpret payslips
- Strong Excel skills, including creating formulas and working with spreadsheets
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable skills:
- Knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), particularly Assumed Pensionable Pay and absences
- Experience using iTrent payroll software
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll experience who enjoys detailed, analytical work and is confident working with large volumes of data.
Initial assignment till end of December 2026
Initial training will be office based but hybrid or remote working can be supported after.
£21 per hour on a umbrella company basis
