Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Cyber Security Analyst for a public sector organisation on a 6 month initial contract.

The role will be to:

• Monitor, investigate and respond to cyber security alerts across their Microsoft security estate.
• Monitor, triage and investigate security alerts generated by Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender.
• Assist with tuning and optimisation of Sentinel analytics rules and alerting.
• Help identify genuine threats, reduce false positives, and provide clear recommendations to technical teams to improve the security posture.
• Work closely with infrastructure, application and security teams to resolve identified risks.

We are seeking candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Proven experience as a SOC Analyst or Cyber Security Analyst
• Worked in a Security Operations Centre (SOC) or cyber security monitoring function.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender XDR technologies.
• Investigating security incidents and analysing security events.
• Ability to independently prioritise, investigate and resolve security alerts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Desirable skills / experience includes experience within local government or the wider public sector, knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and experience with threat hunting activities.

Hybrid working – Ideally 2 days per week in the office

Day Rate: £400 per day via a umbrella company
