Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Data Engineer for a Government Department on a 3 month initial contract.
  
The focus of this role will be creating and maintaining the data pipelines for the production, visualisation and verification tasks and makes the outputs from those tasks available to users. This will involve setting up workflows and related infrastructure on internal and cloud platforms, and supporting the creation of curated datasets for use in further analysis and research.
  
We are seeking candidates who have :

• Good general data and software development (Python) skills
• Ability to build efficient, robust data pipelines.
• Data modelling, validation and processing skills
• Experience with the tools and practices for working with big data
• Ideally experience with environmental / gridded geospatial data, as well as associated metadata.

  
Candidates will need to be eligible for SC Security Clearance so preference will be given to candidates who hold current clearance.
  
The role will mainly be remote based but with occasional attendance at the office in Exeter.
  
Day Rate: £500 per day via a umbrella company.
