Our public sector client is currently looking to recruit an Accountant on an initial 3 month contract, working remotely with 1-2 days a month in the Somerset office

£600 – £660 per day inside IR35

The successful Finance Service Manager will be a qualified Accountant, and will have experience providing business and finance management services. The post is responsible for a service area within the Community Services directorate and provides a comprehensive finance support service to the Service Directors and budget holders.

The main duties of the role include:

• The delivery of a comprehensive finance service, with particular focus on providing advice and analysis for all aspects of revenue and capital monitoring, including contributing to the development of business cases
• Undertake robust variance analysis providing evidence to support this and to support the service area in identifying opportunities, trends, efficiencies, and good practice that will mitigate against overspends.
• Significant experience of budget preparation and capital and revenue budget monitoring is essential, and must be proficient in the use of computerised financial systems
• Have excellent communication skills, be able to build effective relationships at all levels and to manage both your own and your team’s workload
