Job Description:

Our client is currently looking to recruit a People Advisor on an initial 3 month contract, working on a hybrid basis from their Birmingham based office.

The successful People Advisor will have previous experience within a HR / ER / People Advisory role and be confident managing Employee Relations issues.  Within the role you will be working within a team that manages the Employee Relations, with particular focus on sickness absence, capability, disciplinary and grievance cases and will be managing your own caseload.
Key duties –

• Providing people advisory support
• Acting as a trusted advisor – supporting people queries escalated from the People Operations team, and people issues raised within their client groups.
• Lead and engage on role design and job evaluation activities within their client groups, as directed by the Senior People Partner.
• Support the collection and reporting of people data at a directorate level, drawing on consistent People & Culture wide approaches. Feed into how this data is used to inform people planning and evidence-based decision making within the directorate.
• Coach and support line managers to respond to people risks, issues and opportunities within their teams, including leading ad hoc learning sessions to respond to common learning needs.
• Support the delivery of employee engagement activities within the directorate, which may include running focus groups, collating survey results, and forming guidelines and workshop plans to explore the findings.
• Supporting employee relations through the effective management of employee relations cases, and the continual development of robust and clear people guidance documents and learning.
• Being a first escalation point for the People Operations team for queries to our HR inbox that require escalation outside of first line support.
