Job Description:

Our client is currently looking to recruit a Place Planning Lead on a 12 month fixed term contract, working on a hybrid basis.

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working within Place Planning, however this isn’t essential.  You will have an understanding of the Education Service and the statutory requirement of school places in both mainstream and SEND provision, will be confident leading and monitoring the place planning delivery and working closely with school leaders and SEND managers amongst others. 
  
Key Duties

• To lead in statutory processes required in relation to new schools, school expansions, school closures & other school re-organisation proposals including school amalgamations to manage the supply of school places.
• Work in collaboration with School Partnerships, SEND managers & Early Years colleagues to establish short term & medium term need for specialist places. Maintain an overview of primary, secondary, post-16 & specialist places available.
• Collaborate with teams to identify issues & address identified barriers for placements at specialist provisions. 
• Work with school Admissions following the annual admissions process to review applications & assess any immediate requirements for additional places in Reception and Year 7. 
• Plan strategically to deliver appropriate primary, secondary, post-16 & specialist places in a timely fashion to meet the needs of the city.
• To formulate & review the ongoing strategic approach to the provision of primary, secondary, post-16 & specialist places across the city. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established organisation on an initial 12 month contract, working predominantly from home with occasional visits to sites within Bristol.
