Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant for a public sector organisation based in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
  
The main purpose of this role will be to provide financial advice to parts of the business including:

• Preparing, monitoring and controlling revenue budgets
• Maintain and develop accounting records and systems
• Provide detailed analysis
• Assist in the preparation of capital budgets
• Support with financial advice for business plans and cases
• Develop accounting processes and procedures
• To coach and mentor others

  
We are seeking candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Past accounting experience
• Preparing / monitoring capital projects and revenue budgets
• Understanding and application technical guidance and regulations
• Accounting closedown
• Providing financial advice
• Expert MS Excel skills and experience with accounting systems
• Ideally CCAB Qualified (ACCA / ACA / CIMA)
• Ideally Public Sector experience.

  
This role will be hybrid based and offering a salary of £44,711 plus many benefits including substantial pensions, generous holiday allowance and flexible working.
